Creating a heartfelt reminder of Iceland

I made this to remember Iceland by when I moved to New York. There are many rams in Iceland's fields and mountains, so I feel like they represent my homeland, a symbol of the calm and beauty of nature. It brings me a sense of peace and happiness, reminding me of the serene landscapes of Iceland’s fields.

Process

I began by sketching shapes onto brown paper, cutting them out, and tracing them onto the fabric while leaving a bit of seam allowance. Then, I hand-sewed the pieces together. I ended up redoing the body because attaching the feet to the stomach initially resulted in an awkward fit. To fix this, I adjusted the stomach shape and hand-sewed it again. I also incorporated a zipper to make battery replacement quick and easy.

To create the feet, I cut out four circles and four rectangles, then sewed each rectangle to a circle to form cylinders. The head took three attempts to get right. The first version had an awkward shape, and the second was too round and oversized. For the third attempt, I cut egg-shaped patterns from brown paper and glued them together to test the design. This final version turned out perfect!

Finally, I stuffed the head and body with filling and securely sewed the head to the body. To create a softer, more diffused lighting effect, I soldered four LED lights and attached ping pong balls over them.

I 3d printed horns from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2992251 , I resized it down to 70%. I bought Velcro and cut out circles to attach them to the head.
