BORÐ | A Coffee Table

I wanted to make a coffee table for my apartment, so I decided to design a table. My current coffee table is very dull and I've been thinking about a new one for a while.

Sketching Ideas

I sketched out a few tables; I wanted them to be different than the traditional four-legged tables — I wanted them to have one or two legs.

PROCESS

Developing the Design

I took the design I liked the best and developed the table a bit more. I feel like the gap breaks down the table, making it look more exquisite. I wanted the table top to be flowy so I sketched a few shapes.

3D MODELLING

Rhino Model

I used Rhino to model the table and I think it came out pretty nice. I'm not sure what material combination I like the best.

Looking Forward

I would love to take the next steps and build the coffee table. This project helped me gain a better understanding of 3D modeling.
